How Envision’s Pharm-Q Medication Order Management System Works
An Envision Start-up Team works with your staff to complete the set up and mobilization, with special attention to your staff’s training requirements and transition. Once installed and your staff is trained, Pharm-Q MOM forms the information bridge between the floor and the pharmacy. Nursing sends orders using high-resolution scanners located near their stations.
At that point most of the problems associated with getting the order from the physician to the pharmacy using paper or faxes are eliminated. Pharm-Q MOM provides each department with its own tailored view of work-in-progress—nurse, technician, pharmacist, administrator. Orders are queued based on urgency and can be annotated and flagged for resolution, saving time by limiting the number of phone calls, voice mails, and pages between departments. A chat feature (available 2010) allows real-time resolution and annotation, while order status is available to anyone with access to the system. Orders, along with annotations, time-stamps and chats, are all stored for later analysis.
